Every week we let our fans vote on 15 artist to pick a lucky four to perform at the club of those four only one survives every week until we reach the final showdown where winner takes all.

Winners are announced every Saturday after votes are tallied from the Instagram polls. Keep an eye on your email and our Instagram page for updates.

Category: Submission Process

Artists submit their performance video by tagging @magiccity and @fansofmagiccity on instagram and then submitting audio via a submission link. Until you have paid the entry fee and submited the audio you will not be included in the competition.

We only accept 15 submissions per week. This ensures that our audience has enough time to listen to and vote on each performance. Be sure to submit early, as spots fill up quickly!

Yes, there is a $50 submission fee. Artists will be required to pay this fee when submitting their audio, payments will be made online only. If selected to perform there is an aditional $450 performance fee of which $100 will be returned to the artist on the day of their performance in one dollar bills to be used on the stage while performing.

Participants must be 21 years or older to enter and follow the instagram Terms of Service and Community Guidlines.

Artists will submit a short video performance by tagging @magiccity and @fansofmagiccity. They will also submit an audio file of the complete track and submit payment on the website. Until you submit the track and pay the entry fee you will not be considered entered. The track will first be reviewed by our team to ensure it doesn’t violate Instagram Community Standards and then posted as a poll on Instagram for voting to determine whether the artist moves forward to the next round.

What happens on the day of the live event?
If selected to perform live, an additional $450 performance fee must be paid no later than 48 hours after you’ve been notified. You will recieve a secure payment link via email or text. You will receive $100 back in ones to throw during your performance on stage. You are allowed to bring additional money, but you must throw the entire $100 provided, or you may be disqualified. Your performance will be recorded and featured on our Instagram page for additional voting to determine that week’s winner, who will advance to the next stage of the competition. Each contest will span four months, culminating in the Ultimate Mic Drop Showdown.

Artists who win the entire championship can choose from one of the following prizes:

  • A free section with three bottles at Magic City, $500 in ones to spend in the club, and an exclusive apparel box.
  • A music video shoot at Magic City* and an exclusive apparel box.
    Winners will be notified on Saturday, and arrangements will be made for their prize or upcoming live performance.
    *Videos must be shot by approved vendors, and approval is required for creative direction and final released product.

Artist who win the weekly poll will recieve 1 article of merchandise.

Artists who win the weekly perfomrance contest will recieve an inclub prize TBD

What do I need to do after submitting?
After submitting your performance, you are required to post the following on Instagram:

  • Post 1: A video of your submission performance, tagging @magiccity and @fansofmagiccity.
  • Post 2: A promotional post encouraging your followers to vote for your performance on our Instagram poll.
  • Post 3: An additional post of your choice, which could include behind-the-scenes content, story highlights, a countdown post, challenges, or a duet.
    Failure to post these may disqualify your entry.
